A Life Well-Lived A daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend She was the second born to the union of Linda Smith and the late Belva Joe Wallace on March 13, 1988, in Monroe, LA. A happy child, who blossomed into a beautiful young woman, Erica grew up and attended East Carroll Parish Schools. Erica accepted Christ at an early age and united with China Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Camp Butler, which is now under the leadership of Rev. Kemp Burley. A special and unique young woman, Erica’s passion was exhibited through her love for beauty. Hair, Make-up and Nails were the vehicles she used to create beauty for herself and, selflessly, for others. Erica was united in Holy Matrimony to Gene Hedgeman and to this union was born one son, with whom she had an unbreakable bond. Miraculously making it through birth, he was blessed with life even after being born three months early. This experience deepened her love for him and she cherished him dearly. Always kind to others and remembered by her beautiful smile, Erica departed this life on February 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her father, Belva Joe Wallace, mother, Georgia D. Gaines, grandmother Ruthie Lee Wallace, Jonny C., two sisters, Joyce Marie and Barbara Jane.
